Started this project called #aodmath. The concept starts with some kind of scenario such as this:
After watching do you agree or disagree with the statement: The man's maximum height was no more than 50 feet. We have now just started a fight in your math class. You can have students physically move to corners of the room where AGREE and DISAGREE are posted. Allow students to share their thoughts why they are correct. Ask for guesses. Students will want more information right? Record those and then give them this:
With a little bit of math and arguing, students will start choosing sides with more confidence. When everything is all said and done, of course everyone wants to see the answer.
